Applying for sponsorship

Auckland Airport welcomes organisations to submit a sponsorship proposal for an event or activity.

In order to gain maximum leverage for all parties, we require significant lead time on receipt of proposal.  All proposals must be in writing and include the following information:

  • Background on the sponsorship opportunity
  • Brief overview of your company/organisation
  • Level of sponsorship and investment required
  • Timeline, including deadlines and milestones
  • The term of the arrangement
  • Demographics of the target audience including estimated attendance, if applicable
  • A list of confirmed sponsors
  • Brief description of why Auckland Airport should sponsor this event or activity
  • List of the rights and benefits you are offering Auckland Airport. When writing your application please consider the following; 
    • Naming rights to the opportunity or a component of it
    • Positive PR– editorial, media time or space
    • Promotion– signage, displays, advertising, billboards, vehicles, website, publications
    • Access to existing databases or opportunity to generate databases
    • Benefits that could be offered to Auckland Airport’s customers (airlines, travellers, retailers, tenants)
    • Auckland Airport staff engagement
    • Hospitality opportunities
    • Generation of revenue for Auckland Airport
    • Link to Auckland Airport’s brand values
    • Access to celebrities
    • An overview of your marketing plan, if applicable (optional)

 

As a rule, Auckland Airport will not engage in sponsorship arrangements whereby: 

  • The opportunity excludes or offends minority groups 
  • Does not reflect appropriate community standards 
  • Presents a hazard to the community and environment 
  • Individual sponsorships
