Auckland Airport Community Trust

School childrenEstablished in 2003 as a result of an Environment Court Ruling, the Trust receives a donation from Auckland Airport of $250,000 per annum (adjusted to the consumer price index) to be donated to community projects within the aircraft noise contours.

The Trust has, to date, distributed over NZ$1 million to community projects under a theme of 'literacy'.

PCs are now a common site on the playground at Rongomai School – thanks to a grant from the Auckland Airport Community Trust.  It's all part of an innovative programme to raise family literacy levels by giving families new mini-laptops so they can write together with their children.

More details can be found on the Trust's website.
