Sustainable transport
Public transport
Auckland Airport has worked very closely with Auckland Regional Transport Authority to improve public transport to the Airport. In June 2008, an improved Airbus service was launched, providing a 15 minute frequency and a service into the heart of Auckland CBD.
At the same time, a brand new service, the 380, was introduced linking the airport to the heart of Manukau City every half an hour. The route of this service, which is aimed primarily at the airport community workforce, includes a stop at the Papatoetoe train station, which provides linkages with the rail network.
Both these services represent a huge step forward in public transport to and from Auckland Airport.

Carpooling to work
We’re proud to say that over 600 of our airport staff participate in a carpooling programme. By taking this environmentally friendly approach our staff are helping reduce the number of vehicles on the road, pollution and congestion. It saves them money as well!

Hop on your bicycle
Auckland Airport has a cycle lane running from the northern access on George Bolt Memorial Drive through to Puhinui Road to the east.
It is a popular route for recreational cyclists and some keen commuters to work!
