COVID-19 airport updates

Auckland moved to Alert Level 3 at 12 noon on Wednesday 12 August until midnight Friday 14 August, while the rest of NZ moved into Alert Level 2. As an essential service, Auckland Airport will remain open. Only passengers with a valid ticket to travel are permitted to enter the terminals. If you have questions about your flight, contact your airline for the latest information.

Transit information for passengers transiting through Auckland Airport

A new transit lounge is operating for all flights arriving into Auckland.

Safe Travel Zone

Auckland Airport’s international terminal will be split into two zones to separate different categories of travellers as they pass through the international terminal.

  • International Terminal Zone A, Safe Travel area: will be used by people travelling to and from countries with which New Zealand has formed a safe travel bubble.
  • International Terminal Zone B, Health Management area will be used for travellers arriving from countries with which New Zealand does not have a safe travel bubble, and who are required to undergo either managed isolation or quarantine. It will also be used for passengers transiting through Auckland Airport en route elsewhere.


Parking

Parking
  • International terminal: Introduction of free carparking in our main international car park (Car Park A) for the first two hours.
  • Domestic terminal: Car Park M, K, O, L and R are open.
  • If you are picking up travellers, please use the The Wait Zone in Car Park K while waiting for them, the first 30 minutes is free.
  • Car Park E is closed.
  • Valet parking is temporarily closed.
  • Park & Ride is currently operating to the domestic terminal only.

Selling personal care and essential wellbeing/travel essentials such as face masks, hand sanitiser, Panadol, baby formula, limited pharmacy ‘over the counter’ products, nappies, masks etc. plus pre-packaged food and drink.

Take Home Convenience
Before security, arrivals ground floor
Selling pre-packaged and ready to go food and drinks as well as face masks and hand sanitiser. Other essentials available include AT HOP top up cards, telecom sims, etc.

NZ Health & Beauty
After security, level 1
Selling personal care and essential wellbeing/travel essentials such as face masks, hand sanitiser, Panadol, baby formula, limited pharmacy ‘over the counter’ products, nappies, masks etc. plus pre-packaged food and drink.

Vantage Bar
After security, level 1
A limited selection of the usual menu including grab and go fresh food options and coffee.

Airport lounges and Airport Concierge

  • All International Premium Lounges remain closed until further notice.
  • Air New Zealand Regional and Domestic Lounges are temporarily closed.
  • Airport Concierge is temporarily closed.
