Winemaker Brent Marris, whose father John was one of the first pioneers to sink vines into the Marlborough soil, runs The Ned with his wife.

The wine is part of the Marisco stable, a recent winner of New Zealand Winery of the Year with the IWSC. Marlborough is New Zealand's most important region. Its famously-unique sauvignon blanc dominates production, though other cool-climate grapes like riesling, chardonnay and pinot noir are important too.
