Super Weekends to speed up road works
Auckland Airport is upgrading its southern connections with a range of works underway on Puhinui Road/Tom Peace Drive, which includes replacing the roundabout at the Puhinui Road, Tom Pearce Drive and Hape Drive intersection with a signalised intersection.

To avoid the wet winter weather ahead, the transport upgrades will be accelerated over three consecutive ‘Super Weekends’.

Over the Super Weekends (weather permitting), there will be a a one-way entry and exit into the precinct for anyone travelling to and from the south, starting at 9pm on Friday 3 May.

All traffic will be returned to normal by 4am on Monday at the end of each weekend.

There will be full traffic management plan in place to ensure safe travel movements at all times, as well as clear signage and visual display boards to direct safe travel movements.

  • Take particular care at the intersection of George Bolt Memorial Drive and Tom Pearce Drive where important work is ongoing. Ensure you’re in the correct lane if making a turn.
  • Check the traffic and plan your journey so you can allow plenty of time to get to the airport and from your car park to the terminal.
