Sponsorship Programme for the Aviation Wildlife Safety Conference hosted by Auckland Airport - Terms and Conditions

General Terms

1. The Sponsorship Programme for the Aviation Wildlife Safety Conference (“Conference”) is conducted by Auckland International Airport Limited (“Auckland Airport”). The Sponsorship Programme runs from Wednesday, 31 July 2024 to Friday, 2 August 2024 (“Sponsorship Period”).

2. Information produced by Auckland Airport on how to enter the Sponsorship Programme forms part of these Terms. By entering the Sponsorship Programme, you are deemed to accept these Terms. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion and at any time, to replace, modify or amend these Terms or to modify, suspend, terminate, or cancel the Sponsorship Programme.

Eligibility

3.To be eligible to enter the Sponsorship Programme, you must meet the following criteria:

a. you must be a New Zealand resident;
b. you must be at least 18 years old;
c. you have to work in an operational role at a New Zealand Airport and be part of a wildlife management control programme;
d. you must be able to attend the full duration of the Conference, held on Thursday, 1 August 2024 and Friday, 2 August 2024 and already have approval from your employer to attend the Conference;
e. you authorize us contacting your current employer for a reference for your application;
f. You remain in compliance with all of your employers policies and any other requirements you need to undertake your role;
g. you must remain employed by your employer at the time of the Conference.

4. You are not eligible to enter the Sponsorship Programme if you are an employee at Auckland Airport, or an immediate family member of such employee.5. Acting reasonably, Auckland Airport may exclude any person from entering the Sponsorship Programme.

Entry

6. Completing the Sponsorship Programme application form qualifies you as an entrant for the Sponsorship Programme and when you submit your application you confirm to us that you meet all the eligibility criteria set out in these terms and conditions.

7. You may only enter the Sponsorship Programme once.

8. We cannot accept responsibility for any lost, misplaced, illegible, damaged, stolen, late or incomplete entries.

Prize

9. The Sponsorship Programme includes:

(a) One return flight from a New Zealand Airport nearest to your home residence to Auckland Airport on dates to be agreed by Auckland Airport in consultation with you but at our sole discretion.
(b) Three (3) nights accommodation at an Auckland Airport hotel.
(c) Two (2) breakfasts at an Auckland Airport hotel.
(d) One (1) hosted dinner at an Auckland Airport hotel restaurant.
(e) Two (2) evening meals at an Auckland Airport hotel. Both meals are limited to a total value of $200.00 and alcohol is excluded from the meals.
(f) Guaranteed attendance for the full duration of the Conference.
(g) One innovative piece of technology to be presented to you at the Conference, which will be owned by your employer/affiliated Airport.
(h) Attendance at a one-hour training session in relation to the piece of innovative technology presented to you at the Conference, together known at the (“Prize”).

10. Auckland Airport expects to award the Prize to eight individuals, and Auckland Airport may change this number of recipients.

11. Conditions that apply to the flight portion of the Sponsorship Programme:

(a) Auckland Airport can elect which airline carrier will be booked for the return flights.
(b) Auckland Airport is not liable for any cancelled, missed, or delayed flights.
(c) Any taxes are to be covered by you.
(d) Any travel to and from the Airport nearest your home residence is excluded.
(e) All travel will be subject to the relevant airline’s conditions of carriage. Travel may not be eligible to accrue airline dollars or status points and cannot be used in conjunction with any other carriers’ frequent flyer schemes.
(f) We hold no responsibility with arranging and/or preparing appropriate travel documentation for you or on your behalf.
(g) If you live within 250 kilometres from Auckland Airport, we can elect to cover your reasonable mileage costs instead of paying for your flights. We are not responsible for any vehicle running costs, including any maintenance, insurance, and on-road charges. We are not responsible for any motor vehicle damage or incidents.

12. Conditions that apply to the Sponsorship Programme generally:

(a) Auckland Airport will take reasonable steps to arrange the training to take place during the Aviation Wildlife Safety Conference, however, should this not be possible, you are responsible for arranging your own travel to Rotorua to complete the training for the innovative piece of technology.
(b) The Sponsorship Programme inclusions cannot be redeemed for cash or a monetary equivalent and cannot be transferred or exchanged. If any of the inclusions in the Sponsorship Programme are not available for any reason, we reserve the right to substitute the inclusions with another alternative of similar value.
(c) The Sponsorship Programme may be subject to additional terms and conditions by our partners, for example, vouchers may have additional terms and conditions and/or an expiry date. Expenses such as but not limited to, travel to accommodation, travel insurance, meals other than those included in the Prize, spending money, and other associated expenses are your sole responsibility.
(d) If the Sponsorship Programme, or any portion of the Sponsorship Programme inclusions, are cancelled, disrupted or unable to be provided in full due to circumstances out of our control, we hold no liability or responsibility to provide a substitute of the inclusions, or relevant portion of the inclusions, with other inclusions of similar value.
(e) The Sponsorship Programme is taken entirely at your own risk. We will not be liable for any loss, damage, accident, injury, or death (including but not limited to any indirect or consequential loss) suffered or incurred by you or any other person as a result of or in connection with the Sponsorship Programme or any portion of the Sponsorship Programme, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. We will not be responsible for any tax or other costs arising in relation to,or associated with the Sponsorship Programme.
(f) If the successful applicant for the Sponsorship Progamme is selected by a voting mechanism, our decision on voting arrangements and the validity of votes will be final and remain confidential.
(g) We may, at any time, verify the validity of a person that has entered the Sponsorship Programme (including a person's identity, age, and place of employment).
(h) We may refuse to award the Sponsorship Programme to any person who has, in our view, acted in a fraudulent manner, breached these Terms, or gained an unfair advantage in participating in the Sponsorship Programme.

(j) Our determination of the Sponsorship Programme will be final and binding, and no correspondence or other communication will be entered into.
Use of image and privacy

13. If you are a successful applicant of the Sponsorship Programme, you consent to us and our partners involved in the Sponsorship Programme using your name, employer’s name and branding, and image and/or likeness for promotional and media purposes and you will participate in any publicity arrangements which we reasonably require, in each case without compensation.

14. You consent to us providing your name and contact details to the relevant partner that we are working with in relation to the Sponsorship Programme, who may contact you regarding any element of the Sponsorship Programme.
If you win
15. The successful applicants of the Sponsorship Programme will be determined following an interview. The interview will take place in June 2024. The interview may be conducted either in person, by phone or by video conference. Only a person who originally completed the Sponsorship application form is eligible to be selected for the Programme.

16. We will notify the successful Sponsorship Programme applicants by phone or by email by Monday, 1 July 2024 setting out the details of the Sponsorship Programme.

17. If you do not confirm your acceptance of the Sponsorship Programme within 7 calendar days following notification, the Sponsorship Progamme will be forfeited. In those circumstances, we reserve the right to offer the Sponsorship Programme to another entrant.

Miscellaneous terms

18. You must comply with Auckland Airport’s health and safety policies and procedures while at Auckland Airport.

19. Where you use social media platforms to acknowledge your involvement in the Sponsorship Programme, you agree and acknowledge that:

(a) You must comply with the rules of that social media platform.
(b) If you share any images or social media posts from the Aviation Wildlife Safety Conference, Auckland Airport reserves its rights to request that those images or social media posts be removed if they are deemed to be inappropriate, disparaging or factually incorrect.
(c) The Sponsorship Programme is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated to any social media platforms, including but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tik Tok or Twitter.

20. This Sponsorship Programme and these terms and conditions will be governed by New Zealand law and any disputes arising out of or in connection with the Sponsorship Programme will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.

Defined Terms and Interpretation

In these Terms, the following words have the following special meanings:
"Terms" means these Sponsorship Programme terms and conditions (as amended from time to time);
"we", "our", "us" means Auckland International Airport Limited;
"you" means a person entering the Sponsorship Programme; and
“partner” means any company involved with the Sponsorship Programme, including but not limited to, an Auckland Airport hotel, and the company providing the training on the piece of innovative technology.
