Established in New Zealand over 120 years ago, our founder J. H. Whittaker knew that you can’t make the best chocolate unless you make everything from scratch. So, we seek only the very finest ingredients from around the world and New Zealand. We oversee the whole process from beans to bar. Most of our cocoa beans come from Ghana, but we also source uniquely flavoured, high quality beans from other locations. The beans are shipped directly to our factory in Porirua where the batch-roasting begins. This gives us full control over the quality of our chocolate. At Whittaker’s, we are proud to have been voted Colmar Brunton’s "New Zealand’s Most Loved Brand” and Reader's Digest’s “New Zealand’s Most Trusted Brand” for the last 7 years.
