COVID-19 airport updates

New Zealand is at Alert Level 1 and Auckland is at Alert Level 2. As an essential service, Auckland Airport remains open. Only passengers with a valid ticket to travel are permitted to enter the terminals. Please have your travel documents handy as you approach the terminal doors. Please see the Government COVID-19 website for more information.

If you travel to Auckland, make sure you follow the restrictions and advice for Auckland. You legally must wear a face covering when travelling into, from or through Auckland on public transport or aircraft. You are encouraged to wear a face covering when you cannot maintain physical distance from people you do not know, such as the shops, cafes and terminals at the airport.

Transit information for passengers transiting through Auckland Airport

A new transit lounge is operating for all flights arriving into Auckland. View essential information to help you plan your journey.


Safe Travel Zone

Auckland Airport’s international terminal will be split into two zones to separate different categories of travellers as they pass through the international terminal.

  • International Terminal Zone A, Safe Travel area: will be used by people travelling to and from countries with which New Zealand has formed a safe travel bubble.
  • International Terminal Zone B, Health Management area will be used for travellers arriving from countries with which New Zealand does not have a safe travel bubble, and who are required to undergo either managed isolation or quarantine. It will also be used for passengers transiting through Auckland Airport en route elsewhere.


Parking

  • International terminal: Introduction of free carparking in our main international car park (Car Park A) for the first two hours.
  • Domestic terminal: Car Park M, K, O, L and R are open.
  • If you are picking up travellers, please use the The Wait Zone in Car Park K while waiting for them, the first 30 minutes is free.
  • Car Park E is closed.
  • Valet parking at domestic is open. Valet at the international terminal is temporarily closed.
  • Park & Ride is currently operating to the domestic terminal only.
