COVID-19 airport updates

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the ongoing changes to flight schedules and reduced passenger numbers there have been many changes throughout the airport.

Transport

Shuttle
  • The Auckland Transport 380 bus is running.
  • SkyBus service to Auckland Airport is no longer operating.
  • Foreign nationals in New Zealand can drive, or take domestic flights, in order to connect with commercial, or chartered, international flights to their home country.
  • In order to travel to an international airport you can use the following transport options: Self-drive (including a rental car); Be driven by a member of your current household group; Use a taxi or ride-sharing service; Take a chartered vehicle service; Use land-based public transport. You must travel via the most direct route, and comply with physical distancing requirements throughout your journey.
  • Guidelines for getting home from the airport can be found on the Ministry of Health website.

Parking

Parking
  • International terminal: Introduction of free carparking in our main international car park (Car Park A) for the first two hours.
  • Domestic terminal: Car Park M, K and R are open.
  • If you are picking up travellers, please use the The Wait Zone in Car Park K while waiting for them, the first 30 minutes is free.
  • Car Park O and E are closed.
  • Valet Parking is closed.
  • Park & Ride is closed.

Retail

Only travellers with a valid passport will be able to access the international terminal and access to the domestic terminal requires a valid boarding pass. This means that there are no bathroom or refreshment services available for those people picking up or dropping off travellers. Basic food and drink vending is available through the terminals, typically near the departures gates or in the public areas such as check-in.

Selling pre-packaged and ready to go food and drinks. Other essentials available include HOP top up cards, telecom sims, etc

The Juicery
After security, level 1
Selling prepared food & drinks including wrapped sandwiches, packaged muesli, yoghurt, fruit salad etc

NZ Health & Beauty
After security, level 1
Selling personal care and essential wellbeing/travel essentials such as Panadol, baby formula, limited pharmacy ‘over the counter’ products, hand sanitiser, nappies, masks etc

Domestic terminal

Airgo
Before security, ground floor, regional end
Selling pre-packaged and ready to go food and drinks. Other essentials available include AT HOP top up cards, telecom sims, etc

Selling coffee, cool drinks, snacks, confectionery, books, stationery, gifts & souvenirs and other travel essentials

Hudsons
After security, departures, level 1
Selling hot beverages and bottled drinks, as well as packaged snacks eg. crisps, chocolate bars and muesli bars. Fresh baked muffins, pastries and pies are also available

Airport lounges and Airport Concierge

  • All International Premium Lounges remain closed until further notice.
  • Air New Zealand Regional Lounge is now open.
  • Air New Zealand Domestic Lounge remains closed for refurbishment.
  • Airport Concierge is temporarily closed.

Business open around the airport precinct

Travellers and those working around the Auckland Airport precinct have access to food and beverage providers and some retailers.
